Desiree Thank you for your comment. No I didn't get a new buffet, I decided just to use the rod iron and glass piece to show case my silver collection. I was fortunate enough to receive my grand mothers 100 year old dining room table but it didn't have any chairs (lost or broken over the years) so I purchased six new chairs, a pretty good match I think.
symbatsmith Is buffet unit has a glass top? I love the wallpaper, but the dining table with chairs are wrong choice, I suggest to get little bit of modern
Keitha I think you did a great job without spending a lot of money. I would just suggest that you replace the piece of artwork with something a little more contemporary and larger to complete the look. I love using black in decorating... My dining room walls are painted black!
odessalight Great job on your wallpaper and new dining room. I agree with Keitha about adding a different piece of artwork maybe more contemporary piece...canvas. Also maybe cover your switch plate with the wall paper of use what cover. Are you set on the color of your wall?? Maybe a nice grey blue...dusty blue....not sure what your house colors are?? Or a green?? Great job;)
Seventies House Excellent match on the chairs with the dining table! I wouldn't have guessed they weren't a set. Agree with some of the other posts that you need a slightly more modern print to compliment your wallpaper, and also suggest to consider painting the wall with a light grey. I was never a fan of grey but in our apartment I took the plunge with grey in the kitchen/dining area and loved it (accented with some damask/black & white chair pads and linen similar to your wallpaper).
Barbara Griffith Designs I love the wallpaper and the new light, but add a very wide black & white stripe on your chair seats. Obviously larger art, and choose something with more colors. Also a rug..black & white geometric..large trellis pattern.
Susanna I love the wallpaper and applaud your courage to try it. Most people are too timid for this. I agree about the artwork. I like the black wide stripe on the seats idea from Barbara. I might hold off on the rug, though, until you find the art. Depending on what you choose, a color in the artwork could prompt a different color for the rug. Nice job!
Susanna I saw these candles at Pier One online and thought of your room. I think they would be fun for 5.00. (I don't work there, so not trying to sell you something)
Paradise Restored Landscaping & Exterior Design So many great accents for your new dining room - Am sure by now you've run into them everywhere! Enjoy your new space!
Great job;)
