Need help picking a paint color to paint the wood panel wall with fireplace
room wall is Benjamin Moore's Edgecomb Gray. What color should the panels be painted in, a lighter shade or darker.
Pictures attached.

DB West Construction, Inc. If you planning on keeping the picture now hanging on the panels, I would go with a color that picks up the gold tones in the picture. Or, go darker and match the darkest flecks in the marble.

Wendy Peterson How much wall we talkin'? You could...get some stone that works with your fireplace. Lots of options.

4resas For your eye to be sure that the walls are different colors you need at least 2 shades difference. In your case if you go 2 shades lighter, it will be basically white, so go darker.

frustratedminimalist Omg. "Nude Descending a Staircase" is the star here. I'd go with museum white.

iamchickaddd I wouldn't paint the wood panel at all. It's beautiful.

ptmatthews I would pick a color to coordinate with the fireplace, not the picture. The picture will probably change before the fireplace does.
