handymam I really think the star screams something you are not trying to say. The house, which is absolutely gorgeous, appears craftman, but the star says country. It detracts from the beauty.

I think that house design is just perfect otherwise. Would love to own that home!

wmpj When I see a star like that, I think of Texas. I think you can only get away with it if you live in Texas. Since this is for publication, I'd suggest getting rid of the star.

dbdecorate I like the idea of putting in the window, like the one over the garage. It would balance out the gables and not make it look like some kind of product placement advertising, which I believe the star creates.

SPACIALISTS It boils down to clients preference, so it works both ways depending on your clients needs. I would recommend removing it.

I am not sure how to explain,,, but leave your original concept there and make it an open triangle, perhaps with some rafters in it for a design. I am a painter not an architect, so I am sure you are mildly confused at what I am trying to say.

eggfoosushi The star as it currently looks has got to go.
The design is nice. I think the main aesthetic problem with the star emblem is that the colour is such a contrast to the rest of the house it makes it stand out in a bad way. Only the star, the chimmney and the front window baskets are coloured in a contrasting burgundy brickish red against the rather bland yellowy green tones of the rest of the property. It may be worth altering some aspects of the colour scheme slightly
