Great lighting but very bright for a bedroom. Need help with curtain ideas.
This is the master bedroom. It's great it has a lot of natural light, but it's very bright and 2/3 of the room is windows and a sliding door. What would you do for window treatments? Thanks.

Gabberts Design Studio With your baseboard heaters, you wouldn't want anything to hang down that low, so I would suggest some roman or roller shades. They should be mounted inside the windows for a clean look.

lovinglife7 I should have included that we're removing those baseboard heaters and the floor will be hardwood. thanks

JMittman Designs You could start with woven wood shades for privacy. Side panels for added softness.

Julie Thome Draperies, Inc. If your budget can do it, ceiling mounted ripplefold panels on all walls, able to close. I assume your baseboard was hot water anyway which would have been fine to put drapes over...if electric then NO. But since you are removing not a problem. If you need light filtering go for sheers, or if you need room darkening you could do fabric with blackout lining. Would look spectacular.
The panels will accentuate height. On ceiling mounted track they a re easy to operate as hand drawn, or if you have the $$$ go for motorized!

juma decor I would do soft-fold roman shades and mount them on the ceiling so the stack will only drop about 8-9 in. and not interfere with the view. I would also line them with an insulator or black out which will help control temperatures and keep light out when you want it to. They have to be mounted on the outside, I don't see room for an inside mount, there is not enough depth. They could drop to just above your heaters, even the shorter windows. When they are down you don't want some falling to the floor and some only 2/3 of the way down.

Jayne Bunce What style and look are you trying to achieve? Rustic, contemporary, traditional? I agree with Juma Decor on the outside mount, at ceiling, to maximize the view.

Morantz Custom Cabinetry Inc I agree with Julie on this one. We just used these type of drapes with blackout liners as we are on the second floor of a condo and the parking lot lights were a problem. It's pitch dark in our room now at night and the ceiling hung drapes add height to the room.

Shades IN Place I did a master bedroom with the exact same type of windows. The client LOVED the Plantation shutters. Not sure if it is your style...

bevballew I have also used duette shades. Then sheer drapes for a look. I think shutters still let light in?

Shades IN Place @bevballew - if you need a pitch-black room, you are correct: shutters let some light in...NOT much though!

However some people are not as light sensitive as others.

brody1313 plantation shutters are wonderful and eliminate the need for curtains
