tayloch Dark can work if you get the right lighting and use a lot of mirror. Replacing the bath with a shower could help with the space. Hard to get a sense of perspective from the photo. Did you take it standing in the doorway?

krisalo76 im all in favour of a walk in shower nowadays. from the picture it looks like the room enjoys good natural lighting and therefore its a less worry to switch for a dark look. i would go for a dark look and have it brighten up with the curtains, a rug and a white ceiling with good lighting.

waylander893 thinking about ditching the curtains and building a wall half a meter long and tiling that and when you'r in the shower facing the door way you shall see the wall has built in shelves to put shampoo and cond, scrubs etc etc so u dont have to put little suction racks on the walls. question is should the walls or floor be darker. im liking the colour charcoal.

tayloch Cool idea to have a shower wall with ready made space for shampoo etc but I think you room could be too small. How about a glass panel instead?

ASVInteriors charcoal floor is really nice. For a small space go for pebbles on the floor which add a great zen feel. Add a dark vanity and good lighting. You can have a glass panel by bath (or shower if you replace it). I notice you have a recess for soap in your tub - how deep is that? When you do the rebuild, could you use the same spacing for a niche further up if is is a shower).

marymarsh000 Do a shower with all glass doors and buit in niches for your shampoos and soaps. Do a combination of dark and light materials. For example, an expresso brown vanity, lighter brown tiles for the floor and a combo of lighter and darker tiles for the shower. Keep the glass in the shower clear. Get rid of the fabric I see in the photo. To keep the space from looking too small, paint the walls the same color as the lighter brown floor tiles. You can add color with accents and towels.

waylander893 sad thing is the shower and bath are side by side, i think having glass pannels or box will make the room look smaller and look crowded. would be a great idea if they were side by side length ways. pitty they are not :(
