Keep the cheap garage door or go modern frosted glass?
Open to ideas also!

Cheap, came with the house
Modern, frosted glass

Dytecture Frost glass would be a good way to update the facade sine the garage occupies a large portion of the front.

Granite Grannies I love the frosted glass. It completely changes the look of the whole home. It really bugs me sometimes when I drive by a good looking home with a big ugly garage door. It's like wearing your old running shoes with a suit. The suit doesn't make the shoes look better; the shoes negate the effect of the suit. Your house is well designed with nice landscaping and attractive colors. Go for the upgraded garage door.

ManLand LandMan And it's a off yellow : ( smokers teeth, the garage door that came with the house. I'm the only one on the block with an all brick house also!

ManLand LandMan Are the colors I picked out ok? Best matching the trim! The dark aluminum powder coat wouldn't exactly match.

Granite Grannies I rather like the dark color on the door. I think it adds a bit of contrast since the rest of the house colors are fairly subdued, but I think the ones you picked would look good as well.

Living Space Landscapes The most attractive houses don't draw attention to the garage door. I would keep the existing and have some fun with some colorful flower pots or maybe a bright front door.

teeooh It's a lot of frosted glass - I had a neighbor put it in and it was a bit too much- grabbed the eye and wouldn't let go. Given the size of your door and that is right up in front of the house, I think something more subdued would be better

ManLand LandMan Using the iPad I made this mockup, a little lighter than I'd like...

ManLand LandMan I'm thinking the dark!

Granite Grannies While I agree with some of the other opinions that the dark, frosted glass door will grab all the attention, why is that necessarily a bad thing. The garage door is a huge portion of the front exterior. If you had a large set of glass windows, those would be the focal point. Why shouldn't an attractive garage door take the stage. It's going to be the first thing you notice anyway, might as well notice something beautiful. In addition, it's what you look straight at everytime you pull into your driveway.

feeny Love the frosted glass garage door. If one has to have a garage door at the front of the house taking up important aesthetic space, by all means make it a beautiful one!

lewis + smith The amount of light that a frosted glass garage door lets in makes the garage a pleasant space. Once you install one you will wonder why you were even debating the decision.

ManLand LandMan Smokers teeth garage door is cheap as hell needs to go! I'm thinking the frost glass idea is the way to go! I just need to add more black to my Decore and house!

Lizabeth I think it is a terrifc looking door , I would like to see you repeat some elements of that feel on the rest of the facade. I feel the grids in the front window clash with that door. Can you replace those windows with window with a modern feel. Also the curve in the concrete, could that be made in to a series of either squares or rectangles. Perhaps add a low sleek concrete planter ? Just throwin out ideas. I feel you would have this uber hip door that looks like it is going to a different party than the rest of the house.

I think you can fix it but need to adjust somethings on your facade to really make the door work for you. But that is one cool door.

An arrangement of three concrete planters spaced out on the front yard expanding and reworking the entry stair planted with tall grasses would balance the door and give the house so much street appeal.
